Richard C. Jones, 55, of Willow Street, died Friday at Lancaster General Hospital following a year-long battle with cancer. He was a computer programmer, and worked for Armstrong World Industries for 29 years. He was a computer analyst for the Foot Locker corporate office in Camp Hill for 6 years. Mr. Jones graduated from McCaskey High School in 1967 and served in the United States Navy. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and enjoyed playing in fantasy sports leagues. He was also a Civil War buff. He enjoyed being "Pop" to his grandchildren. Mr. Jones was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry P. and Ethel Ermine Moore Jones. He was married 34 years on April 25 to Debra Ann Brill Jones. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Richard A., married to Elaine J. Jones of Lancaster; a daughter, AmyJo M., married to Matthew J. Tongel of East Petersburg; and three grandsons.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 27, at 12:00 p.m. with the Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend the viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King ST., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Lancaster Catholic High School Marching Band, 650 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
