1/20/07	Cocunut Creek, FL	--	Doubles	Sand	Several	0-3	My first attempt at playing since I wrecked my knees at the Rumble almost 7 months ago. I should have stayed home. The court conditions were tough with deep, soft sand and a high net but it didn't excuse how poorly I hit. I just could not get a clean hit all day. It was embarrassing. My body feels pretty beat up, even after only 3 games. I don't know how things will progress from here. I am very sensitive about f'ing my one "good" knee up again since it has taken me so long to get back to where I am now.
4/28/07	Deerfield Beach, FL	BB	Doubles	Sand	Randall	4-2 2nd place	It was a good day all around. We played surprisingly well. I hadn't played a tournament with Randall for about a year. A net that was a bit on the low side helped my game for sure. I actually had a few hits that seemed "hard" Other aspects of my game were good enough, certainly good for not playing at all for the last 4 months. My body is a bit beat up but at least so far nothing serious. Hopefully I get to play more than once this year.
6/9/07	Hollywood, FL	A	Doubles	Sand	Randall	1-3	My knees only stopped hurting a few days prior from the last tournament I played. Randall signed us up for A based on our strong BB showing in the last tournament. I wasn't up for the challenge. It was very windy all day and I just didn't deal with it well. My timing with hitting was off all day which made for a miserable outing for me. After beating a team that should have been playing BB in the first match, we lost the remaining three games. We were barely in any of the games. By the time the last match came around I had zero confidence left from the prior beatings. It wasn't a good feeling.
7/30/07	Fort Myers, FL	BB	Doubles	Sand	Randall	5-3 3rd place	We dropped back down to BB and had better results. There were only 7 teams total but every team we played was good. The sand was packed which made for better jumping. I finally tried to serve more aggressively and had some good results with it. My hitting and serving were the good parts of my play, my digging and my setting were the weak points. All in all it was a good day. I am sore as hell now though.
12/10/07	Fort Lauderdale, FL	BB	Doubles	Sand	Randall	1-2 (tourney) 5-1 casual	Evidently the days of me being able to not play for 5 months and then turn "it" on are behind me. The other teams on the net were all good but we started off slow as hell, making all sorts of unforced errors in pretty much every facet of the game. We didn't make playoffs. After we were eliminated we played a bunch of "fun" games where Randall and I actually played much better than we did during the actual tournament. The bad news is I am a physical wreck. Both knees and both shoulders are giving me constant painful reminders that they just don't want to be doing this sort of stuff anymore. It sucks because it was a lot of fun getting back out there on the sand.
