This page is dedicated to electronic gaming and not limited to only computer games. I play console games as well. I have owned many, many systems.

Hmm all this time and no updates?   You would think I have stopped gaming but nothing could be farther from the truth!   I have been busy playing games and really have more games to play than I have time to enjoy!  My wife got me a Nintendo 64 for Christmas so I now I have a Playstation and a N64 as well as my Pentium II 350!  On the Playstation side I got through Resident Evil, I used a walk thru ( I don't know how long it would take if you tried to figure it all out yourself)  It is a very freaky game that was very engaging and scary at the same time.  I have Resident Evil II waiting downstairs for me to play when I have a weekend to smoke.  I also got NFL Blitz for the Playstation.  This a great game with high speed hits, taunting and action that I have never seen in any other football game. I recommend it. With My N64 I have Madden 99, Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Turok.  The graphics on the 64 are great, however one thing I have noticed at least with the sports title is that the cartridge format severly limits the voice over commentary in the game.  You play it what seems like silence in comparison to Playstation and PC-based football games. I also am still struggling with getting accustomed to the freakish N64 controller.  Games like Turok have me constantly hitting the wrong key or going up instead of down because there are just so many buttons!   On the PC side I have still been playing Starcraft or more accurately Broodwars which is an update to Starcraft that introduces new scenarios and units into the game.   If you are a Starcraft nut you MUST get Broodwars.  I finished the campaign in Broodwars. (very cool and challenging)  I also tackled NFL Gameday 99.  I found this to be a very well done game, high on realism and fun. Just make sure you have a fast system with a good 3d card.  Multiplayer play in this is a joke.  It uses a client server setup where the person who plays as the server has a huge advantage in speed over the client.  Next up I got into Blood 2.  This game features intense graphics, gore and fun.  I went through the entire game on the easy level and it was hard enough.  There are 4 total characters you can go through the game as.  I recommend sticking with Caleb, he has the best mix of power and is the only character that you will get the cinemas with. (plus I think he says the funniest stuff)  This game is not for little kids and again you need a kick ass system to run this well.  I also have played Trespasser which is based on "Lost World"  You are a woman stranded on the island who needs to find a way off.  The game boasts of an entirely new first person experience.  I would agree with that.  Most people either love or hate this game.  I find it  a bit tedious and slow paced but the realism is hard to argue.  I recently started playing Half Life. Wow!  It is a real mix of plot with 1st person shooting.  The graphics are unreal and the characters are very individual.  The game requires cunning as well as the typical blow everyone away ability of other Quake style games.  I look forward to enjoying this one!  Well that is an awful big update but I guess that is what happens when I don't do it for months. Next update will be much sooner!

Well I certainly have been busy gaming in the past 2 months. I have been playing alot of multi-player Starcraft (great multiplayer game), Unreal and game emulators.   Unreal is a Quake 2 style game with better graphics, weapons and difficulty.   The enemies in Unreal are more intelligent than normal.  They duck, dive and roll out of the way of your line of fire.  If they hear you, they chase you until they hunt you down and kill you.  The graphics are the best I have seen in this style of game and are definitely enhanced by having a 3D video card.  I found myself easily enveloped in the game and just love it.  However, more of my time lately has been spent testing and playing emulators. What are emulators? Well I didn't know either until some guys I work with found them.  They are basically software emulators for various video game systems.  I have emulators that allow me to play Genesis, Super Nintendo, Neo Geo and older Arcade style games on my PC.  These are not translations, they are the exact game you remember playing way back when. Liked Burger Time? Couldn't get enough of Punch Out? Well there are literally hundreds of games out there waiting for you! It rocks!  Not all games play real well with a keyboard but some of the games can be played with your joystick.  Click on the link above to get started exploring the world of emulators, if you go way back like me with video games you'll absolutely be thrilled.

Yes it has been awhile since I added anything here, but that is because I didn't have any new games to report on. Well I got my hands on the long awaited and much ballyhooed STARCRAFT. Starcraft is made by Blizzard, the makers of such popular games as Warcraft and Diablo. Since I am a Warcraft junkie this was a "must get" for me.  The game is a Warcraft style game that takes place in the future. This game is unique because it gives you the option to play or be 1 of 3 different races, Zerg, Protoss, or Terran. The game differs from most games of this genre in that the different races do not simply have different beings with the same powers as the other. All 3 races have unique abilities and weakness which makes for great gameplay and strategy. The game is more complex than Warcraft with more kinds of units and buildings available. The Zerg are a terrifying killing race with creatures that look like they are out of the movie Alien. The Protoss are an ultra-hi-tech civilization that has some amazing weapons of deception and destruction. The Terrans are the human beings of the future with a variety of high firepower units and weapons at thier command. The single player campaigns are broken into 3 different sections which are designed to be played in order. Each campaign has you playing as a different race and the whole storyline flows from one campaign to the next. So far I have completed the Terran and the Zerg campaign with only the Protoss campaign remaining. The storyline is involving and well thought out, the game play is very familiar, if you played Warcraft you'll be comfortable with the controls very quickly. The graphics and sound are great, the movies depicting the storyline are also very well done. Multiplayer battle is available for free via BattleNet just like Diablo. I have not yet gotten a chance to go head to head against others but I am sure it will be great fun.  All in all the game is very well done and was worth the wait. Plus the best part is it's cheap. I picked up my copy for around $35!!!

My next conquest has been Dark Colony.   Dark Colony is a Warcraft-style game that takes place on Mars!  Your job is to rid Mars of the filthy aliens (Grays) to make it safe for humankind.  If you like Warcraft you will like this game.  The video clips are very good, graphic and gory!   The games used Direct X 5.0 and has outstanding graphics and sound.  The game has many different units with strengths and weakness's.  Unlike Warcraft where it was difficult to control more than 8 units at a time, Dark Colony will let you select as many as units as you can drag a box around and send them crashing in on the enemy.  Sme of the battles are pretty spectacular with dozens of units attacking with explosions and gunfire filling the air.  It took me a long time to beat the game (I only went through as humans, you can go through as Grays as well)  The game is addicting once you get into it.  It also supports multi-player (up to 8) through the modem, tcp-ip, or an ipx network.  The best news of all is the game is cheap!  It seems like for some reason, noone knows about this game.  I picked it up for 29.99 at Best Buy!   Enjoy!  I am not sure what my next game is going to be.  For now I'll keep beating up the aliens!

Welp I just beat Quake II (on easy level granted) but I still beat it..... it is a huge game that just totally immerses you.   Add a Monster 3d card and a thumping sub-woofer and I think you have the best 1st person shooter I ever have played.  It is downright scary and to get through to the end takes all kinds of exploring, dodging, running and sweating!  Welp next up on my list is a game called Dark Colony.  My younger brother turned me onto it.  It is a Warcraft style game based in the future with some kick-ass graphics and sound effects.  I'll give details of what I think soon!

Well Xmas gave me a chance to play some more games.  I got my copy of Madden 98.  Very cool except the factory version has waaaaaaay too many bugs!!!!  All kinds of weird stuff was happening.   When I downloaded the 1.2 patch it fixed most of them as well as adding support for my new Diamond Monster 3d card. (very cool addition to my hardware as well) Anyway, the game is definitely tougher against the computer and the graphics and animations are better done.  Control is crisper than in Madden 97.   If you like football games for the PC, this is the one you should get.  My new 3D board also allowed me to check out the 3D accelerated versions of Quake 2.  1 word...... UNREAL!  What a difference.  I always thought the plain vanilla video versions offered nice graphics but when you get a 3D card a new level of interaction is reached.  Graphics just about as good as I have seen.  A friend of mine brought over You Don't Know Jack for me to try out!  I had seen this game on the shelves many times but never thought much of it.  Well to play it is to love it.  The format, pace, humor and just about everything else about this piece of software is endearing.   If you haven't tried it, you are missing out!  If you don't want to lay out the cash, try out the online version at BEZERK!

Quake II is out!!!! I already have a copy. It is very cool. If you are a Quake junkie you'll want this game. Better graphics, better sound, better enemies, more gore and just a blast to play! Also if you are currently playing Quake check out my dedicated Quake page at http://quake.duf.net Madden 98 is out which I hope to get soon and try out. I heard the 1 player games are still too easy like Madden 97 but I get the game to play other people which is the most fun anyway.

A new and improved version of Kali is out. If you don't know what Kali is you should get it and try it out! In a nutshell it is software that tricks your computer into thinking the internet is one big IPX network! So you can play almost any game that supports IPX networks over the internet. It is HIGHLY recommended and only has a 1 time $20 registration fee!!! Get it here.

The Quake 2 playable Demo is out! Download it here! If you loved Quake you'll love Quake 2!!! I also downloaded and tried out Age of the Empires. I am a Warcraft 2 junkie so everyone said this was the next step in that type of game. The game offers incredible graphics and detail but I have 2 gripes. Gameplay just seems very slow to develop in comparison to Warcraft and it just wasn't as much fun either. I am back to playing Warcraft. Reviewers say AOE is a cross between Warcraft and Civilization. I never played Civilization. Download AOE with the link to the left and try it yourself!
